King of the Birds, Lord of the Skies
Gather ye rose buds while ye may, old time is still a flying;
and this same rose that you see today, tomorrow will be dying.

Love Letter

My Dear Wife,

Where would I be without you? You are as necessary to me as the air I breathe, the water that sustains me, and the food that nourishes me. You are like God's love that constantly cradles me. Yes, I need air, water, food, God's love, and I need you. I need your love, my dearest. I need your love just as surely as God blessed our union. How I thank God for leading me to you! Without you, I would be lost and hurting.

But that's how I feel, and I wanted you to know, my dear. I realize I don't always show you this vulnerable side of myself, and I admit sometimes it's a little uncomfortable. No guys like to appear weak or needy, but I want you to understand how important you are to me. You play a vital role in my life. I need your love.

Because I Love You,
Your Husband.

Develop the Habit of Persistence

There are four simple steps which lead to the habit of persistence. They call for no great amount of intelligence, no particular amount of education, and but little time or effort. The necessary steps are :

1) A definite purpose backed by burning desire for its fulfillment.
2) A definite plan, expressed in continuous action.
3) A mind closed tightly against all negative and discouraging influences, including negative suggestions of relatives, friends and acquaintances.
4) A friendly alliance with one or more persons who will encourage one to follow through with both plan and purpose.

Victory belongs to the most persevering.
-Napoleon Bonaparte

Get Stuck with Determination

There is one that you must have if you're going to create lasting value in this world. It will dictate how you deal with upsets and challenges, with disappointment and disillusionments. Determination means the difference between being stuck and being struck with the lightning power of commitment. If you want to get yourself to lose weight, make those business calls, or follow through on anything, "pushing" yourself won't do it. Putting yourself in a state of determination will. All your actions will spring from that source, and you'll just automatically do whatever it takes to accomplish your aim. Acting with determination means making a congruent, committed decision where you're cut off any other possibility.
With determination, you can accomplish anything. Without it, you're doomed to frustration and disappointment.
Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any one thing.
-Abraham Lincoln

Components of Success

Will it take a great deal of discipline, a great deal of education?
Would you have to manage your time well?
We hear a lot about success, but we don't hear as much about the components of success - the attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors that go into producing it. If you don't have a good grasp of the components, you may find it difficult to put together the whole, so stop now and write a couple of paragraphs or a page about all the character traits, skills, attitudes, beliefs, and disciplines you would need to have as a person in order to achieve all that you desire. Take some time on this.
Character is the first and last word in the success.

Be Nice to your Mouse

I find this quite interesting. What if ...

Three Brave Tales - R(A)

Picture the scene. It's a cold night beside the campfire and stars twinkle in the dark night sky. Three hang-glider pilots, one from Australia, one from South Africa and the other from New Zealand, are sitting around a campfire near Ayers Rock, each full of the bravado for which they are famous.
A night of tall tales begins. Steve the Aussie says, "I must be the meanest, toughest hang-glider dude there is. Why, just the other day, I landed in a field, scared a crocodile who got loose from the swamp and ate six men before I wrestled it to the ground with my bare hands."
Jerry from South Africa typically can't stand to be bettered. "Well you guys, I landed after a 200 mile flight on a tiny trail and a fifteen foot Namibian desert snake slid out from under a rock and made a move for me. I grabbed that bar-steward with my bare hands and beat it's head off, then sucked the poison down in one gulp. And I'm still here today."
Kevin the Kiwi remained silent, slowly poking the fire with his penis.

Two Aussies in a Boat

Two Aussies, Davo and Johnno, were adrift in a lifeboat. While rummaging through the boat's provisions, Davo stumbled across an old lamp. He rubbed the lamp vigorously and a genie came forth.
This genie, however, stated that he could only deliver one wish, not the standard three.
Without giving much thought to the matter, Davo blurted out, "Turn the entire ocean into beer. Make that Victoria Bitter!"
The genie clapped his hands with a deafening crash, and immediately the sea turned into the "hard earned thirst" quencher.
The genie vanished.
Only the gentle lapping of beer on the hull broke the stillness as the two men considered their circumstances.
Johnno looked disgustedly at Davo whose wish had been granted.
After a long, tension-filled moment Johnno said,
"Nice going Davo! Now we're going to have to piss in the boat."

Aristotle on Education

It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.

The roots of education are bitter, but the fruit is sweet.

Education is an ornament in prosperity and a refuge in adversity.
- Aristotle

Wasted Years

A man who views the world the same at fifty as he did at twenty has wasted thirty years of his life.

Quotes from my Favourite General Napoleon

He who knows how to flatter also knows how to slander.

A man will fight harder for his interests than for his rights.

A revolution is an idea which has found its bayonets.

A throne is only a bench covered with velvet.

Ability is nothing without opportunity.
- Napoleon Bonaparte
