oh baby

The Secret is in the Beginning

"Beginning" is just another way to describe the most powerful six-letter word in the vocabulary of achievers: A-C-T-I-O-N.

Hugely successful people, the kind who go from mediocre to millions almost overnight, know that the major key to their success was taking MASSIVE ACTION.

When Jeff Bezos decided to start Amazon.com, he left his job on the East Coast and headed to Washington State. He had his wife drive him and their belongings across the country so that he could stay on the phone constantly; convincing potential investors and vendors why Amazon would be a success.

Even the smallest of actions, the ones James Allen called trivial and insignificant, can lead to great success. Sir Isaac Newton's principle that a "body at rest tends to remain at rest and a body in motion tends to remain in motion," definitely applies to the action principle. Once you've taken the first step (even a baby step), the next steps seem easier to take.

It was one of the key principles that almost every single trainer or motivational speaker focused on. That's why Autumn Tate of Colorado later wrote, ""My husband and I have been talking so much about where we go from here, what steps we take next, and what we want to achieve. We have known for a long time that we felt called to reach out in a huge way, but have not been able to put a clear focus on what that means. I know that this has launched us into massive action."

Getting launched into massive action is one of many things you must do now!!! And I am doing it ... NOW!!!

Life to its Fullest

Some people can, some people cannot.
Some people will, some people won't.
Some people have, some people don't have.
Some people do and some people don't.
What is it that some people do and most don't?

The answer is living life to the fullest.

Most folks I know get up and go to work, come home, eat dinner, sleep and repeat the process the following day. This process occurs day after day, week after week until you realize years have passed. You know you are alive because you are breathing, eating, paying your bills (plus GST) and going to work everyday.

Alive, but are you LIVING? Are you getting all you can get out of life? Are you living your dreams or at least chasing them? Are you creating tangible goals and not lofty unattainable goals? Are you working on these goals on some level every day or every week or even one day a month?

If you are not striving to accomplish great things in your life what are you waiting for? The right time is now! The action step this week is to do one thing out of your comfort zone. If this means attending a social gathering, asking someone for a date, seeking reconcialation with an offended party, approaching a successful entrepreneur to learn more about a business that holds your interest, or even volunteering for a cause you believe in, just do it.

"The difference between great people and everyone else is thatgreat people create their lives actively, while everyone elseis created by their lives, passively waiting to see where lifetakes them next. The difference between the two is thedifference between living fully or just existing".

My First Successful eBay Deal!

Bidded. Collected. Paid. Checked. Tested. Satisfied?
Okay, I must admit I was a little surprise to win the bid. But you will agree with me that no matter how cheap you got your stuff, you will never really know how good the deal is until you tested the goods.
So here I was. Went down to Marina Bay Golf Club and get a few swings....and I was amazed!!! The driver worked well. Not bad for a $50 deal, yeah!

Conceptualize Your Purpose

Conceptualize Your Purpose
(by Mark Victor Hansen)

What were you put on earth to do? That's a mind-blowing question, because most people don't know the answer. Lots of folks get up, go to work, come home, eat dinner, sit in front of the television and go to sleep. That´s their day. That is not anyone's purpose in life. That's not a life at all.

Don't get me wrong – I'm not throwing blame or fault. In most cases, they probably don't know any better. This was how their parents lived each day; this was how they grew up. Maybe they think this is it – this is all life has to offer.

Well, I'm here to sound the wake-up call.

There's a great scene in the movie "The Matrix" between Morpheus, a mentor, and Neo, his student. Neo has just woken up and discovered that what he thought was reality was just a world 'that had been pulled over his eyes to shield him from the truth.' Morpheus wants Neo to let go of what he used to think of as "reality," his mundane, day-to-day existence, where his true purpose was neither recognized nor realized. I want you to create a new world, a new reality, where you recognize that you have a purpose for being on this planet, and realize that your purpose is waiting for you to figure it out.

If you don't know your purpose, then your first purpose is to get a purpose.

When you look at the lives of the most successful people who ever lived, you can see that they had a definite purpose and they knew it. Some examples are: Christ – His purpose was spiritual, and stated in John 10:10, which reads: "...I am come that you might have life, and that you might have it more abundantly."

Walt Disney's purpose: "To make people happy."

Dr. R. Buckminster Fuller's purpose: "Humanity's comprehensive welfare on spaceship earth."

Henry Ford's purpose: "To mass produce, mass distribute and have cars mass consumed."

Andrew Carnegie's purpose: "To manufacture and market steel."

Mother Teresa's purpose: "To care for and comfort the poor, sick and needy all over the world."

I don't want you to confuse a purpose with a goal. Goals are great! I teach goal setting, and believe it is crucial to achieving any kind of success. But goals alone, left by themselves, can be indiscriminate and undirected. We can have hundreds of goals (and I hope you do), but we may only have one purpose that we work for our entire life. That purpose should be the underlying core that gives our goals direction and meaning.

Discovering your purpose will put your life into crystal-clear perspective. You won't see the world you once knew. You will see another world, one in which you are a necessary and intricate spoke in the wheel.

The saddest places on earth are graveyards. Not because people are buried there, but because dreams, talents and purposes that never came to fruition are buried there. Graveyards are filled with books that were never written, songs that were never sung, words that were never spoken, things that were never done.

You have talents and gifts that no one else can offer. There are things you can do that no one else is capable of doing quite the way YOU can do them. Don't rob this earth of your purpose by taking it to the grave with you. You see, we all have a purpose, a reason for living, breathing and existing.

We all have unique talents and gifts that were created and given to us to be shared. Our task is to understand this and figure out what our purpose is. We owe it to the Universe AND to ourselves!

"You will become as small as your controlling desire, or as great as your dominant aspiration."

Innovation & Wealth

A Little Secret

I just make a pact with God. I have decided to LDTP. I felt so good after surrendering this part of my struggle to Him. I finally understood what AGAPE really meant. Looking back, there are people who love me unconditionally, and they are still doing that. I am thankful.

You see, I always felt I don't deserve this and I don't deserve that ... since young. In part I was right. None of us really deserve all that God has intended for us, after commiting cosmic treason against the Almighty. But in His AGAPE love, all sins are write-offs at the cross.

So, I have decided that:

1. I will never never seek divorce. It has been and will always be "till death do us part".

2. Loving unconditionally is my re-pledge.

3. You can give me pain, more pain, and ultimate pain. My response will be love, more love, and ultimate love.

Remember: When evil abounds, grace abounds ALL the more!

This day, I've made a pact with God. It's our little secret.

The Magic is in YOU

The Magic is in You - by Vic Johnson
(excerpted from Day by Day with James Allen)

"When he realizes that he is a creative power, and that he may command the hidden soil and seeds of his being out of which circumstances grow; he then becomes the rightful master of himself." - As A Man Thinketh

I was reading an old classic the other day, The Message of a master by John McDonald, and I was rocked by an incredibly insightful passage: "The cause of the confusion prevailing in your mind that weakens your thoughts is the false belief that there is a power or powers outside you greater than the power within you.

Stop and think about that. What keeps us from attempting greater things -- from reaching for the brass ring in our life? What makes us take that great idea that could make our family financially free and bury it underneath a lot of reasons why it'd never work? What stops us from that career change that would result in working in a profession we could really enjoy, could get passionate about?

There's only one thing that EVER stops us from forward momentum and McDonald nailed it: "the false belief that there is a power or powers outside you greater than the power within you."

As I once heard a speaker say, "The magic is in YOU!" As James Allen tells us, once we realize that we can create our circumstances, then, and only then, are we truly the master of our life and our destiny.

Regardless of your particular spiritual beliefs, you may find these words from the Gospel of John very enlightening, "He that believeth on me, the works that I do, shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do." That would indicate to me that we are already "endowed" with the power to do amazing things -- far more amazing than most of us will ever attempt -- if we'd only understand and BELIEVE that the power is within, not without.

The Last Chicken

A man goes to a restaurant and orders a chicken dish. By the time the food is ready and he is about to eat, the waiter comes back and says, "Sir, I'm afraid there has been a mistake. You see, that police officer who is sitting at the next table is a regular customer of ours and he usually orders the same dish. The problem is, this is the last chicken in the house. I'm afraid I'll have to take this dish to him and arrange for another dish for you!"

The guy gets really upset and refuses to give up his food. The waiter walks over to the other table and explains the situation to the officer. A few minutes later the officer walks over to the man at the table and says, "Listen and listen good. That is MY chicken you are about to eat and warn you, whatever you do to that chicken I'll do the same to you. You pull out one of its legs, I'll pull out one of yours. You break one of its wings I'll break one of your arms!"

The man calmly looks at the chicken, then sticks his middle finger in the bird's rectum, pulls it out and licks it. He then gets up, drops his pants bends over and says, "Your turn!!"

Twelve...

Tom was starting he's first day of job as a policeman. So as he was patrolling. He saw there's one old man keep walking round and round a well saying twelve, twelve, twelve.

So out of curiosity he walk forward and ask the old man, how come he keep counting twelve.

The old man point his finger in the well. So as Tom was bending down and look into the well. The old man give Tom a mighty hard kick and Tom fell into the well.

And the old man continue walking round and round the well saying thirteen, thirteen, thirteen, thirteen...

Competition is Good

A shopkeeper was dismayed when a brand new business much like his own opened up next door and erected a huge sign which read 'BEST DEALS.'

The shopkeeper panicked, until he got an idea. He put the biggest sign of all over his own shop. It read... 'MAIN ENTRANCE'

The Paradoxical Commandments

The Paradoxical Commandments
(by Dr. Kent M. Keith)

People are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered.
Love them anyway.

If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.
Do good anyway.

If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway.

The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.

Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway.

The biggest men and women with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest men and women with the smallest minds.
Think big anyway.

People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs.
Fight for a few underdogs anyway.

What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway.

People really need help but may attack you if you do help them.
Help people anyway.

Give the world the best you have and you'll get kicked in the teeth.
Give the world the best you have anyway.

Skip a Day

A woman was terribly overweight, so her doctor put her on a diet.

"I want you to eat regularly for 2 days, then skip a day, and repeat this procedure for 2 weeks. The next time I see you, you'll have lost at least 5 pounds."

When the woman returned, she shocked the doctor by losing nearly 20 pounds.

"Why, that's amazing!" the doctor said, "Did you follow my instructions?"

The woman nodded. "I'll tell you though, I thought I was going to drop dead that third day."

"From hunger, you mean?"

"No, from skipping."

Goblins

One morning a woman was walking out of her front door, when she notices a strange little man at the bottom of her garden.

"You're a goblin," she says, "I caught you and you owe me three wishes!".

So the goblin replies "OK, you caught me fair and square, what's your first wish?"

The woman stops and thinks for a second, "I want a huge mansion to live in."

The goblins replies "OK, you've got it."

Woman again thinks it over, "My second wish is a Mercedes."

"OK, you've got that too."

"My last wish is a million dollars!"

The goblin then says "OK, you've got it. But to make your wishes come true you have to have sex all night with me."

"OK then, if that's what it takes..."

Next morning the little man wakes the woman up.

"Tell me," says the man, "how old are you?"

"I'm 27", she replies.

"Screw me", says the man, "27 and you still believe in goblins!"

Who's In-Charge?

The organs of the body were having a meeting, trying to decide who was in charge. Each organ took a turn to speak up:

Brain: I should be in charge because I run all body functions.

Blood: I should be in charge because I circulate oxygen for the brain.

Stomach: I should be in charge because I process food to the brain.

Legs: I should be in charge because I take the brain where it wants to go.

Eyes: I should be in charge because I let the brain see where it's going.

Asshole: I should be in charge because I get rid of your waste.

All the other parts laughed so hard and this made the asshole very mad. To prove his point, the asshole immediately slammed tightly closed and stayed that way for 6 days, refusing to rid the body of any waste whatsoever.

Day 1: Brain got a terrible headache and cried out for relief.
Day 2: Stomach got bloated and began to ache terribly.
Day 3: Legs got cramps and became unstable.
Day 4: Eyes became watery and vision became blurred
Day 5: Blood became toxic and poisoned the body.
Day 6: The other organs agreed to let the asshole be in charge.

Moral of the story:

NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE, OR HOW IMPORTANT YOU THINK YOU ARE, YOU WILL FIND THAT IT IS ALWAYS THE ASSHOLE THAT IS IN CHARGE!!!

Pee Pee in MRT

This is a Singapore story (supposedly)... Hilarious! This is an encounter of friend's friend's friend (so don't know how true, but quite funny)

The male colleague had just boarded the train at Orchard MRT Station. He found a seat facing a woman and her 5 year old son (estimated). He soon realised that the boy was pestering his mum to bring him to the toilet. His mum whispered to him to hold on until Bugis station. He reluctantly obeyed.

After another station, he started begging to visit the loo again. At raised voice, his mum commanded to sit and behave himself. He sheepishly sat down but could only hold on for another station before springing up to announce that he was going to pee on the ground if not taken to the toilet immediately.

Completely annoyed, his mum threatened to give him a spank. Needless to say, all eyes were upon them by now. How can a woman be that tough on a little child?

Unable to hold on any longer, the boy suggested in Mandarin, "Mummy, you open your mouth and let me shi shi (Pee/Urine) inside".

Mum said, "don't talk nonsense, or I'll really smack you".

Boy said, "why daddy can, I cannot!!!??? "Ma,"..!!!....."

She alighted at the next stop.

Culpability

(From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

Culpability descends from the Latin concept of fault (culpa), which is still found today in the phrase mea culpa (literally, "my fault"). The concept of culpability is intimately tied up with notions of agency, freedom and free will. All are commonly held to be necessary, but not sufficient, conditions for culpability.

In explanations and predictions of human action and inaction culpability is a measure of the degree to which an agent, such as a person, can be held morally or legally responsible. Culpability marks the dividing line between moral evil, like murder, for which someone may be held responsible and natural evil, like earthquakes, for which no one can be held responsible.

From a legal perspective, culpability describes the degree of one's blameworthiness in the commission of a crime or offense. Except for strict liability crimes, the type and severity of punishment often follow the degree of culpability.

Modern crimes codes in the United States usually make distinct four degrees of culpability. Legal definitions are:

A person acts intentionally with respect to a material element of an offense when:
if the element involves the nature of his conduct or a result thereof, it is his conscious object to engage in conduct of that nature or to cause such a result; and
if the element involves the attendant circumstances, he is aware of the existence of such circumstances or he believes or hopes that they exist.

A person acts knowingly with respect to a material element of an offense when:
if the element involves the nature of his conduct or the attendant circumstances, he is aware that his conduct is of that nature or that such circumstances exist; and
if the element involves a result of his conduct, he is aware that it is practically certain that his conduct will cause such a result.

A person acts recklessly with respect to a material element of an offense when he consciously disregards a substantial and unjustifiable risk that the material element exists or will result from his conduct. The risk must be of such a nature and degree that, considering the nature and intent of the actor's conduct and the circumstances known to him, its disregard involves a gross deviation from the standard of conduct that a reasonable person would observe in the actor's situation.

A person acts negligently with respect to a material element of an offense when he should be aware of a substantial and unjustifiable risk that the material element exists or will result from his conduct. The risk must be of such a nature and degree that the actor's failure to perceive it, considering the nature and intent of his conduct and the circumstances known to him, involves a gross deviation from the standard of care that a reasonable person would observe in the actor's situation.

(The above has been quoted verbatim from the Pennsylvania Crimes Code. That in turn derives from the American Law Institute's Model Penal Code, which is the basis for large portions of the criminal codes in most states. The only difference is that the MPC uses "purposely" instead of "intentionally".)

In short:

A person causes a result purposely/intentionally if the result is his/her goal in doing the action that causes it.

A person causes a result knowingly if he/she knows that the result is virtually certain to occur from the action he/she undertakes.

A person causes a result recklessly if he/she is aware of and disregards a substantial and unjustifiable risk of the result occurring from the action, and

A person causes a result negligently if there is a substantial and unjustifiable risk he/she is unaware of but very much should be aware of.

The first two types of culpability are each a subset of the following. Thus if someone acts purposely, they also act knowingly. If someone acts knowingly, they also act recklessly.

The definitions of specific crimes refer to these degrees to establish the necessary mens rea (mental state) necessary for a person to be guilty of a crime. The stricter the culpability requirements, the harder it is for the prosecution to prove its case.

For instance, the definition of first degree murder (again in PA) is "A criminal homicide constitutes murder of the first degree when it is committed by an intentional killing." Thus to be guilty of murder in the first degree, one must have an explicit goal in one's mind to cause the death of another. On the other hand, reckless endangerment has a much broader requirement:

"A person commits a misdemeanor of the second degree if he recklessly engages in conduct which places or may place another person in danger of death or serious bodily injury." Thus to be guilty of this one only needs to be aware of a substantial risk he is putting others in danger of; it does not have to be one's explicit goal to put people in risk. (But, if one's goal is to put others in substantial risk of death or serious bodily injury, this is, of course, sufficient.)

There is one more type of culpability, and that is strict liability. In strict liability crimes, the actor is responsible no matter what his mental state; if the result occurs, the actor is liable. An example is the felony murder rule: if one commits a qualifying felony (see the article) during which death results, one is held strictly liable for murder and the prosecution does not have to prove any of the normal culpability requirements for murder. (They still have to prove, of course, that the defendant committed the felony.)

Suddenly, the American turned to the Japanese and asked, "What kind of -ese are you?"

The Japanese confused, replied, "Sorry but I don't understand what you mean."

The American repeated, "What kind of -ese are you?" Again, the Japanese was confused over he question. The American, now irritated, then yelled, "What kind of -ese are you ... Are you a Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese!, etc......???"

The Japanese then replied, "Oh, I am a Japanese." A while later the Japanese turned to the American and asked What kind of 'key' was he. The American, frustrated, yelled, "What do you mean what kind of -kee' am I ?!"

Son of a Bitch!!!

A sixteen year old girl went to a priest for confession.

"Father, I called a guy son of a bitch yesterday."

"Why did you do that?" asked the priest.

"He touched my hand without my permission," replied the girl.

"Like this?" The priest touched her arm.

"Yes father."

"That is no reason to call him a son of a bitch." said the priest.

"He touched my breast too, father."

"Like this?" The priest touched her breast.

"Yes, father."

"That is still no reason for you to call him a son of a bitch." said the priest.

"He then took off my clothes!" said the girl.

"Like this?" The priest then took off her clothes.

"Yes, father." said the girl.

"That's too bad." said the priest, "But that is still no reason for you to call him son of a bitch."

"He then plugged his thing in my thing."

"Like this?" The priest then plugged his thing in her thing.

After catching her breath, the girl answered, "Yes, father."

"You still should not have called him a son of a bitch." said the priest.

"But father.."said the girl "..he has AIDS."

"SON OF A BITCH!!!" exclaimed the priest.

Correcting the First

Were it offered to my choice, I should have no objection to a repetition of the same life from its beginning, only asking the advantages authors have in a second edition to correct some faults in the first.
